Provides direct and indirect patient care under the guidance of a registered nurse, focusing on basic human, mental health, and social needs. Responsibilities include performing clinical procedures such as ECGs and IV placement, as well as handling unit secretary and transport duties.
Requires a High School Diploma and completion of a Nurse Aide, Medical Assistant, or EMT training program, or equivalent nursing clinicals. Basic Life Support certification is required, and one year of related patient care experience is preferred.
Provides direct and indirect patient care duties under the guidance and direction of the registered nurse. Responsible for implementing components of the plan of care through the initiation/completion of procedures relating to basic human, mental health and social needs; comfort, safety and emergency measures; activities of daily living; personal care needs; nutrition and fluid needs; and elimination needs. Measures vital signs, performs ECGs, venipuncture, IV placement, capillary blood glucose testing, and Unit Secretary, Patient Transport, and Environment of Care duties.
Education High School Diploma or Equivalent Required Other Successful completion of Nurses Aide or Medical Assistant Training and Competency Evaluation program, EMT training program or Nursing student with satisfactory completion of Nursing 101 clinical or equivalent clinical rotation Required
Experience 1 year experience in a related patient care role Preferred
