Center for Mental Health Care is seeking a full-time Bilingual Psychiatric Social Worker to join our outpatient program in Perth Amboy, NJ.

As one of the largest outpatient behavioral health centers in Middlesex County, we are dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care to individuals facing a wide range of psychiatric conditions and co-occurring disorders.

Our multidisciplinary team delivers care through a comprehensive, individualized treatment approach that emphasizes recovery, rehabilitation, and realistic therapeutic goals tailored to each client’s needs.

The center’s diverse and collaborative staff includes a medical director, psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, registered nurses, psychologists, social workers, social work interns, interpreters, and support personnel — all working together to support our community’s mental health and wellness.

Responsibilities

Under supervision performs work involved in providing psychiatric and social work services for clients; does related work as required, including, but not limited to the following: Interviews clients and confers with families, representatives of the public and private agencies, schools, and police departments, and other interested persons, and obtains significant social, psychological, psychiatric, and other data needed for diagnosis and treatment. Prepares complete, concise, accurate, and informative histories of clients incorporating pertinent information supplied by outside agencies. Provides explanations of services and facilities to clients and their families and to social workers, teachers, judges, and/or other interested persons. Interprets recommendations of staff to patients and their families, social workers, teachers, and other interested persons. Provides guidance and assistance to persons in need of psychiatric care and counseling and who may be antagonistic or afraid. Provides assistance to patients who need help in making satisfactory adjustments. Prepares psychiatric and other reports containing findings, conclusions, and recommendations. Establishes and maintains essential records and files.

Qualifications

Bilingual - Spanish and English Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Social Work preferred. Appointees must possess the credential of Licensed Social Worker, (LSW) issued by the N.J. State Board of Social Work Examiners. Must satisfy employer paid physical, drug screen and criminal background check. NJ residency required by State Statute. R.S.52:14-7. The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $65,000-$75,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Requirements
