Requires a BSN (or ADN with BSN completion within 3 years), a current California RN license, and BLS/ACLS certifications. Candidates must have at least one year of acute or outpatient care experience and one year of perioperative experience or a specialty course.

City of Hope is seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinical Nurse to join our exceptional team in the operating room, specializing in cancer treatment. In this crucial role, you will contribute to the fight against cancer by providing outstanding surgical care to our patients. The OR Nurse prepares patients for surgery, assists during operations, and ensures a sterile and safe environment. The OR Nurse will collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional care tailored to the unique needs of oncology patients. This opportunity is for per diem, 12-hour shifts, and is designated for the eve shift (10:45am start time). The per diem flat rate for this position is $78.524/hr. The position is also eligible for a unit differential of $1.11/hr additional and a shift differential (evenings) of $2.75/hr additional. There is a minimum of 1 shift per week availability required for per diem. As a successful candidate, you will: Assist in surgical procedures related to cancer treatment, including tumor removal, organ resection, and reconstructive surgery. Ensure the operating room is prepared with the necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies for each procedure. Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technicians to maintain a sterile and safe surgical environment. Monitor patients during surgery, assessing vital signs and assisting with the management of complications. Provide post-operative care, including wound care, pain management, and patient education. Maintain meticulous documentation of surgical procedures, patient conditions, and medication administration. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
