About the Role

Minimum Qualifications

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or equivalent in the state of Texas.
• Experience working in an Intensive Outpatient Program or similar behavioral health setting.
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities and mental health assessment tools.
• Ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with diverse populations including adults with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
• Training or certification in trauma-informed care, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), or motivational interviewing.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems used in behavioral health settings.
• Bilingual proficiency, particularly in Spanish, to better serve the Austin community.
• Previous experience in residential or community-based mental health programs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments to determine clients' mental health status and treatment needs within the IOP framework.
• Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and the care team.
• Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based practices tailored to client needs.
• Monitor client progress and adjust interventions accordingly, documenting all clinical activities in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and facilitate referrals as needed.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and ongoing professional development activities.
• Respond promptly and effectively to client crises, ensuring safety and appropriate intervention.
• Educate clients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping mechanisms.

• The Clinician - IOP utilizes strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills daily to evaluate client needs and develop effective treatment plans.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building therapeutic relationships with clients and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• The clinician applies evidence-based therapeutic techniques to facilitate individual and group counseling sessions, adapting approaches to meet diverse client backgrounds and challenges.
• Organizational skills are critical for maintaining detailed and compliant clinical documentation, managing caseloads, and coordinating care activities.
• Additionally, problem-solving and crisis intervention skills are frequently employed to address urgent client needs and ensure safety within the outpatient program setting.
