Travel assignment in a skilled nursing facility setting with guaranteed 36 hours per week and a weekly pay range of $2,116 to $2,271. The shift runs from 08:00 to 16:30. This is a temporary travel position with responsibilities in assessment, treatment planning, and therapy for adults with communication and swallowing disorders in an acute care–adjacent environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive speech-language pathology assessments for adult patients admitted to the facility and determine diagnoses related to communication and swallowing.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans and goals aligned with patient needs and discharge planning.
  • Provide direct therapy services and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress and interdisciplinary team input.
  • Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in a timely, compliant manner.
  • Educate patients and families about communication strategies, swallowing safety, and ongoing care needs; collaborate with nursing, therapy, dietary, and social work teams to support patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Current Virginia license as a Speech-Language Pathologist or eligibility for licensure
  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Experience in acute care or skilled nursing settings preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a skilled nursing facility environment and with a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and accurate clinical documentation
