Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to ED patients, including triage, rapid assessment, monitoring, and timely interventions.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, wound care, and procedures per approved protocols.
• Document patient data accurately in the electronic health record; Meditech knowledge is helpful but not required.
• Collaborate with physicians, technicians, and support staff to manage patient flow, test results, and dispositions.
• Monitor airway, bleeding, pain control, and vital signs; respond to emergencies and rapid deterioration as needed.
• Deliver patient and family education, discharge instructions, and referrals to ensure safe transition of care.

Requirements

• Active RN license in Washington State or a multi-state license with verifications (approved 6-hour suicide training and demographics verification from Nursys).
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications.
• Emergency Department nursing experience or demonstrated ED knowledge.
• Ability to work night shifts with 12-hour scheduling and maintain current competencies in a fast-paced setting.
• RTO (return-to-operations) must be pre-approved and added to the end of the contract; full availability for scheduling is required.
