The Respiratory Therapist assesses and implements care plans for respiratory patients, performing direct care activities and administering medications. They are also responsible for patient education, maintaining care records, and participating in departmental performance improvement programs.
Candidates must hold a current RRT and a California RCP license. Required certifications include BLS, PALS, ACLS, MAB, and a Los Angeles Fire Card, most of which must be obtained within 30 to 60 days of hire.

job summary
the respiratory therapist will assess and implement plans of care for respiratory patients. they perform direct care activities required to provide and maintain individualized quality patient care. specific areas of responsibility include: administration of respiratory medications, performance of treatments, provision of patient education, maintenance of a record of care. actively participates in performance improvement programs with-in the department. the respiratory therapist is responsible to the director of respiratory therapy and under medical supervision of the medical director of respiratory care services.
