Corbin 3 North Surgical is a 36-bed medical-surgical unit dedicated to providing comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of medical and surgical diagnoses. We offer compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the continuum of recovery. Our team specializes in post-operative management, medical stabilization, and ongoing treatment of acute and chronic conditions. 3 North Surgical is committed to delivering high-quality, coordinated care that supports safe healing, patient education, and optimal outcomes for every individual we serve.
Performs care requiring substantial specialized knowledge, judgement and nursing skills based upon the principles of psychological, biological, physical, and social sciences in the application of the nursing process. Utilizes high-level assessment skills to design and ensure multidisciplinary patient care to meet holistic needs, incorporating established practice guidelines and regulatory standards. Must possess the ability to supervise LPNs, CNAs, Techs, Unit Secretaries, and Clinical students. All employees will continually monitor and adhere to safety responsibilities and initiatives.
Complete and document patient assessments, care plans, and changes in condition.
Develop, implement, and evaluate patient care, education, and discharge plans. Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
Perform clinical procedures, implement provider orders, and respond to emergencies.
Utilize critical thinking, SBAR communication, and sound judgment to promote patient safety.
Delegate tasks appropriately and provide leadership and support to staff.
Prioritize workload, facilitate patient flow, and maintain accurate documentation.
Serve as a role model, resource, and mentor while promoting teamwork and accountability.
Participate in orientation, professional development, and shared governance activities.
Maintain licensure, complete required training, and ensure regulatory compliance.
