  • Summary: The Cardiology Clinic RN provides professional nursing care and clinical support to patients receiving outpatient cardiovascular services. In this role, the RN coordinates patient care across the continuum, conducts comprehensive clinical assessments, assists with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and provides education regarding cardiac conditions, medications, and treatment plans. Working as part of a collaborative and patient-centered cardiovascular team, the Cardiology Clinic RN partners closely with providers and interdisciplinary team members to support high-quality care, effective communication, and positive patient experiences. This position plays a vital role in promoting quality outcomes, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and effective disease management while contributing to a supportive clinical environment focused on delivering exceptional cardiovascular care. The role offers the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients and colleagues while helping ensure coordinated, efficient care throughout the outpatient setting.

  • Responsibilities: Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and triage patients presenting with cardiovascular conditions, symptoms, or concerns in the outpatient clinic setting. Coordinate patient care activities, including diagnostic testing, specialty referrals, medication management, and follow-up appointments to support continuity of care. Educate patients and families regarding cardiac diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, lifestyle modifications, and self-management strategies. Document clinical assessments, interventions, communications, and patient responses accurately within the electronic health record. Monitor patient status, review diagnostic results, and communicate significant findings to providers to facilitate timely clinical decision-making. Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, ancillary staff, and external healthcare partners to support high-quality patient care and operational efficiency.

  • Required: Current or temporary RN license in ND or compact RN licensure. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required within orientation period. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 6 months of hire. Certification as a Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist, Certified Cardiac Rehab Professional, or Certified Pulmonary Rehab Professional is preferred.

  • Requirements: Two years experience in a critical or acute coronary care unit preferred. One year of experience in Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab Phases IIII preferred.

The role may require assisting patients with mobility needs, handling clinical equipment and supplies, and performing repetitive tasks such as documentation and medication administration. Adequate vision, hearing, manual dexterity, and communication skills are necessary to assess patients, operate medical equipment, and respond effectively to clinical situations.

Requirements

Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with a current RN license and BLS certification. Preference is given to those with two years of critical or acute coronary care experience and ACLS certification.
