About the role

The technician provides support and care for patients requiring urgent or emergency medical attention under the supervision of licensed personnel. Responsibilities include performing assigned duties delegated by nurses and maintaining medical supplies and equipment.

High school graduate or equivalent. Must have current S.C. Nurse Aid Certification OR passed fundamentals in RN/LPN school OR completed Surg Tech OR EMT course OR completed 2 year Health Science Technology Program, or 6 months experience as a PCT at SRH. BLS certified.

Under supervision of licensed personnel the Emergency Care Center Technician will perform a variety of functions in support and care of patients requiring urgent or emergency care in the emergency medical setting.

Under the delegation of a Registered Nurse/Providers the ECC Technician performs specific assigned duties in providing patient care in accordance with established SRH, ECC and Nursing Services Policy/Procedure/Protocols and Standards of Care; assists in maintaining supplies and repairs and safely operating work related equipment.

Communicates findings as indicated to appropriate person(s).

Serves as a resource person for other SRH team members to resolve work related/patient care issues.

Performs any other job related duties as requested by Department Manager, ECC Supervisor, Charge/Lead Nurse or Departmental Director

Requirements

Candidates must be high school graduates with a BLS certification and a relevant certification such as S.C. Nurse Aid, EMT, or completion of a Health Science Technology program. Alternatively, 6 months of experience as a PCT at SRH is acceptable.
