Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care for Medical-Surgical Telemetry patients, including orthopedics, urology, gynecology, and general surgery
  • Monitor cardiac telemetry, interpret basic rhythms, and respond to changes in patient condition
  • Administer medications, start IVs, and manage standard nursing procedures within scope
  • Document care in the electronic medical record (EPIC) and coordinate with the on-unit hospitalist team
  • Collaborate with CNAs/LPNs and ancillary staff; participate in rapid response, code, and IV/fall team activities as needed
  • Support safe patient transfers to higher levels of care when clinically indicated; participate in patient education and discharge planning

Requirements

  • Active RN license in Vermont
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required; NIHSS certification must be completed prior to start
  • Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical Telemetry nursing experience; progressive care experience preferred
  • EPIC experience within the past 2 years
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Availability for 12-hour night shifts and a every-other-weekend schedule; floating not required
  • Education: RN degree (ADN or BSN) as appropriate for Vermont licensure
