About the role

The PTA implements individualized therapy plans and guides patients through exercises to improve mobility and restore function. They are responsible for documenting patient progress and communicating updates to the supervising Physical Therapist.

Help Patients Regain Strength and Independence Glendive Medical Center is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support our rehabilitation team.

In this role, you'll work directly with patients to improve mobility, restore function, and enhance quality of life.

Position Overview The PTA works under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to carry out treatment plans, assist with therapeutic interventions, and monitor patient progress throughout their recovery.

What You'll Do Assist with implementing individualized therapy plans Guide patients through exercises and functional activities Observe and report patient progress and responses to treatment Document care and communicate updates to the Physical Therapist Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques Assist with patient transfers, positioning, and transportation Apply therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, heat, and massage Prepare and maintain therapy equipment and treatment areas

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited PTA program (Associate degree required) Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in Montana Strong communication and patient care skills Ability to work collaboratively with rehabilitation staff Skills & Attributes Compassionate and patient-focused Strong attention to detail Effective communicator with patients and care teams Physically capable of assisting patients safely Physical Requirements Ability to lift and assist patients (up to 75 lbs.) Frequent standing, bending, and movement Ability to support physical therapy activities throughout the shift

Requirements

Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited PTA program with an associate degree and hold a valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in Montana. Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs and strong communication skills are required.
