About the role

Assess and identify vascular access needs for patients and coordinate PICC placement services in both hospital and outpatient settings. Serve as a clinical resource for staff regarding the monitoring and management of catheter-related complications.

Job summary

A licensed Registered Nurse accountable to assess and identify the vascular access needs of the patient, coordinate and provide services for peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) placement in the hospital setting and for outpatient referrals, and to serve as a resource to staff for ongoing monitoring, maintenance and management of potential catheter-related complications. Practices under the direction of the designated nurse executive, within the scope of the Nursing Practice Act, and in accordance with Valley Children's Hospital policies.

Qualifications

  • Education
  • Program Graduate from an accredited nursing program. (required)
  • College Degree - 4 year Nursing (preferred)
  • Licenses and Certifications
  • BLS - Basic Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire or transfer into position (required)
  • RN - Registered Nurse License - CA-BRN - California Board of Registered Nursing (required)
  • PICC Certification (preferred)
  • Work Experience
  • Minimum two (2) years Related clinical experience. (required)
  • Minimum three (3) years (preferred)
  • Skills and Abilities
  • Bilingual Skills Preferred.

  • This position will be 4 x 10-hour shifts per 2-week pay period.

Requires a valid California RN license, BLS certification, and at least two years of related clinical experience. A bachelor's degree in nursing and PICC certification are preferred.
