Provides comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing electrophysiology and structural heart procedures, including pre-procedure assessment and post-procedure recovery. This position cares for patients before, during and after an electrophysiology procedure. This position cares for Structural heart (including Watchman), Lead extractions, ablations, Vascular and EP pacemaker / device patients. This includes pre-procedure assessment, pre-medication, documentation of procedural process, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, mapping, post-procedure care and patient education.
Certifications and Licensures
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Required Equivalent Experience - Within 1 month of hire or transfer BLS - Basic Life Support Required Equivalent Experience - Within 1 month of hire or transfer RN - Registered Nurse Required Equivalent Experience - Knowledge of the nursing techniques normally acquired through the completion of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing culminating in licensure in the State of Michigan.
Knowledge of critical care nursing as normally acquired through 2 years experience working in a Medical Center or similar setting. Interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals and groups and interact with people at all levels to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
