Under the supervision and direction of the Licensed Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapist Assistant provides effective treatment and clinical activities in the provision of physical therapy so that effective and optimum quality of patient care is delivered.
Graduation from a Physical Therapist Assistant program and successful completion of clinical internship requirements.
Current licensure or eligibility for licensure by the Board of Medical Examiners, State of California required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
One year of professional experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred.
Basic knowledge and understanding of physical therapy procedures and techniques required for providing routine Inpatient, Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) and Outpatient physical therapy treatments.
Knowledge of infection control procedures.
Knowledge of proper body mechanics.
Must be a graduate of a Physical Therapist Assistant program with current California licensure and BLS certification. One year of professional experience is preferred, along with the physical ability to stand, walk, and transfer dependent patients.
