The Milieu Therapist assists patients in meeting bio-psycho-social needs through therapeutic treatment, crisis intervention, and short-term family therapy. They are responsible for treatment planning, leading psychotherapeutic groups, and providing clinical support to unit staff.
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, mental health or a related field required.
One year direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting and experience in patient assessment, family motivation, treatment planning and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities is required.
Registered and in good standing with the BBS or active license Issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, or other applicable license, is preferred. LCSW, MFT, or Licensed Psychologist is preferred.

Requirements: Must successfully complete the Fremont Hospital’s non- violent Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training course within 90 days of employment and prior to assisting with preventative intervention measures. CPR Certification must be current and presented to Human Resources upon hire. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
