Responsibilities

• Operate x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated portions of the body as ordered by physicians.
• Position and instruct patients prior to examinations; adjust the x-ray equipment and determine proper voltage, current, and exposure time for each radiograph.
• Apply radiation safety principles to protect patients and staff; optimize exposure factors to ensure diagnostic-quality images.
• Prepare and process radiographs for interpretation; document procedures and maintain accurate image labeling and data entry.
• Communicate with patients to explain procedures, address anxiety, and ensure patient cooperation; maintain equipment cleanliness and adhere to infection control protocols.

Requirements

• Active radiologic technologist license/registration in California
• Ability to operate x-ray equipment and perform radiographic examinations as ordered
• Strong patient positioning, communication, and safety practices
• Flexibility to work 12-hour day shifts in a travel assignment
