Clinical Nurse Resident Role Overview The Clinical Nurse Resident provides comprehensive nursing care to patients and families through an individualized plan of care.

This plan is guided by patient assessments—including physical, psychological, and socioeconomic factors—and physician orders for treatment, education, and care.

The role supports WakeMed’s mission, values, and patient care standards while incorporating: ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice North Carolina Board of Nursing Practice Act WakeMed’s Professional Practice Model Patient & Family Centered Care principles, which include: Dignity & Respect – Honor patient and family perspectives and choices Information Sharing – Communicate complete, unbiased information in a supportive way Participation – Encourage and support involvement in care and decision-making Collaboration – Work together with patients and families to deliver care
