Schedule 4-5 days per week
Summary/Objective: Provides ultrasound services for the applicable specialty. The ultrasound technologists activities are performed consistent with their education and training, and in accordance with Galen Medical policies and procedures and applicable professional standards, under direction and supervision of the Physician. No “call” is required and no holidays or weekends Competitive pay based on experience.

Explains procedures to patient to obtain cooperation and reduce anxieties of patient. Performs ultrasonic diagnostic procedures as directed by physicians for patients in all trimesters as well as GYN patients. Schedules patients and explains procedures to assure cooperation and optimum test results. Positions patients. Selects appropriate transducer. Conducts scanning procedures using ultrasound equipment. Moves scanner over specified body area, and adjusts equipment to focus. Makes hard copy images. Documents tests. Maintains ultrasound equipment. Orders and stocks all ultrasound supplies. Reviews test results with interpreting physician. Calibrates appropriate equipment, as necessary. Participates in clinical educational programs as necessary for job duties. Performs all duties in compliance with Galen clinical policies and OSHA standards. Maintain professional communication skills between employee, patient, physicians and other facilities. Make recommendations for any improvements in operation of the ultrasound system. Our machines are the GE Volusion E6 OB scans from beginning of pregnancy through end of pregnancy. Full anatomy scans ( Fetal anatomic examination) , BPP(Biophysical Profile Scan), Experience in fetal heart chambers, looking for cleft lip and pallet deformities. Looking for cervix and placental abnormalities in pregnancy. Re scans for previous unseen areas or areas of concern that need to be reevaluated. The majority of the scans done daily are for OB patients. The more OB experience the better. Gyn scans can be both transvaginal and abdominal. The scans are to look for abnormalities such as masses, cysts, fibroids, heightened endometrial lining.

Duties/Responsibilities: Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Assist other personnel in the performance of their duties as assigned and as workload permits. Function as relief for other personnel in the office as appropriate and to facilitate co- workers’ absence in the office. Recognize and demonstrate cost-effective measures in utilization of supplies, equipment and other resources. Maintain strictest confidentiality of all company records, including verbal and written records. Other duties as assigned by Regional Manager and Physicians.

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Individual must have previous experience in related field and job duties. Must be computer literate.
Requires a high school diploma and a professional certification or license as an Ultrasound Technologist. Candidates must have 1-3 years of experience in an OB/GYN clinical setting and be CPR certified.
