Qualifications

  • The Behavioral Health Provider must possess a Master’s degree or higher from an accredited program in medicine, nursing, or a related behavioral health field and hold a current, unrestricted license in the State of Oklahoma as a Physician (MD/DO), Physician Assistant, or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
  • The candidate must maintain prescriptive authority in accordance with Oklahoma state regulations and practice within the defined scope of licensure.
  • The position requires demonstrated experience providing behavioral health services across the lifespan, including children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations, as well as knowledge of crisis assessment and intervention techniques.
  • The Provider must be skilled in conducting clinical assessments, formulating accurate diagnoses utilizing DSM and ICD-10 criteria, and developing and implementing evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Working knowledge of CPT coding is required.
  • Proficiency in electronic documentation systems and computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel, is essential.
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, effective communication abilities, professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and sound problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

AND DUTIES: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and behavioral health assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and risk assessments for suicide, homicide, and other safety concerns. Formulate accurate diagnoses using DSM and ICD-10 criteria and develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans. Provide psychotherapy services and other clinically appropriate interventions to individuals, families, and groups within their scope of practice. Prescribe, monitor, and manage psychotropic medications in accordance with scope of practice and state guidelines. Monitor patient progress, evaluate treatment effectiveness, and modify care plans as clinically indicated. Collaborate with primary care providers, behavioral health staff, case managers, and community partners to ensure coordinated, integrated care. Provide crisis intervention services and appropriate referrals for higher levels of care when necessary. Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medication management, and coping strategies. Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with federal, state, tribal, and ethical standards. Identify barriers to recovery and assist patients in accessing supportive services, including community resources, support groups, inpatient treatment facilities, and vocational services. Remain current with developments in behavioral health practices, regulations, and evidence-based treatment standards. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors within their scope of practice.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's degree or higher in medicine or nursing and a current Oklahoma license as an MD, DO, PA, or PMHNP. Demonstrated experience in behavioral health services and proficiency in DSM/ICD-10 criteria and CPT coding are required.
