About the role

Conduct cutting-edge research at the interface of basic immunology and translational vaccine development. Elucidate mechanisms governing antibody evolution to accelerate the rational design of next-generation vaccines.

The Wistar Institute has an opening for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to work in the laboratory of Dr.

Amelia Escolano in the Vaccine & Immunotherapy Center at The Wistar Institute.

The Escolano Laboratory conducts cutting-edge research at the interface of basic immunology and translational vaccine development.

We use a multi-disciplinary approach integrating cell and molecular biology, immunology, virology, structural biology, computational design and different animal models of vaccination.

Our overarching goal is to elucidate the mechanisms that govern antibody evolution and to accelerate the rational design of next-generation vaccines.

The lab fosters a highly collaborative and dynamic environment, working closely with leading experts across disciplines, and is deeply committed to rigorous training, mentorship and the professional development of its members.

Candidates must have a PhD (or equivalent degree) or be close to obtaining their doctoral degree.

Competitive applicants will have strong critical thinking, organizational and communication skills and at least one peer-reviewed publication in an internationally recognized journal.

Experience in the following areas is preferred: structural biology, computational protein design, immunology, animal models.

Candidates will receive personalized training as required.
