About the role

Provide comprehensive therapeutic counseling, including individual, family, and group therapy, to community members of all ages. Manage clinical documentation, treatment plans, and participate in on-call rotations for emergency crisis situations.

Description Summary

Provide comprehensive delivery of therapeutic counseling to members of the community of Kerrville. These services will be provided to people of all ages. The goal for productivity will be 62%. Complete an assessment and treatment plan from a Trauma Informed Lens. Complete clinical documentation within 48 hours of service provision. Participate in clinical staff meetings and professional development. Participate in providing field-based services and consultation as needed. Must be willing to maintain flexible schedule to meet the needs of clients and possibly respond to on call rotation for emergencies.

Requirements

Position Responsibilities: *Provide individual/family/couples/crisis counseling, psycho-educational classes, group therapy and other clinical program services *Participate in service planning, goal setting, discharge planning, and clinical rounds, as a member of client support team. *Maintain licensure in good standing adhering with the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council and established professional standards. *Maintain training and supervision necessary for competency and systematic use of Trauma Responsive, evidenced based practice within theoretical model(s) specific to population served (i.e. TF-CBT, ACT, EMDR, DBT, Perinatal Mental Health, Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation – training is available) *Ensure all clinical documentation, assessments, treatment plans, session notes, and other documentation is completed including: data entry, signatures, and documentation uploads are completed within required timeframes. *Engage in various Outreach Events and make presentations to the public regarding a variety of clinical topics, overview of Grace Counseling and other Catholic Charities programs. As needed, participate in on call rotation and be available to respond to crisis situations and emergencies promptly, providing guidance for staff and clear directives. Report incidents involving clients or staff to Lead Therapist, Program Director/Vice President of Programs and all other parties as required by licensing/contractor requirements. Respond to emails and information requests promptly, for internal and external stakeholders. Bill appropriate funding sources for time and services as specified in contracts and grants. When appropriate, works cooperatively on treatment team with case worker, case manager, direct care staff, family members, psychologist, psychiatric, medical professionals, legal professionals, and/or respective school personnel. Works cooperatively with staff colleagues, consultants, and referring professionals. Attends administrative meetings, retreats, and other team building activities. Must be sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics. Must complete all necessary professional development in a timely manner. Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others. Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information. Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral is mandatory. Every employee is required to take a solution-oriented approach in their interactions and undertakings, as well as being a team member that promotes collaboration and commitment to the Mission and Vision of the organization. As a Catholic Charities employee, attendance and successful completion of a New Employee Orientation is mandated for the position. The inability to meet this requirement will conclude employment with the Agency. Other duties as assigned by Lead Therapist and/or Senior Director.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Master’s Degree or higher in social work, counseling, psychology, or other relevant behavioral science with clinical experience. LPC, LPC-A, LMFT, AMFT, LMSW or LCSW required Experience 1 year experience providing counseling to victims of trauma or grief and loss. License and Credentials Licensed to provide clinical services in the State of Texas; Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor or experience with Alcohol and Drug Treatment a plus; Reliable transportation; Valid driver license; Must Have clean driving record Valid vehicle insurance; Submit to a state and federal background check and child abuse an neglect registry check; Be physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of performing assigned tasks and have the skills necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities. Minimum Knowledge and Skills: Experience working with individuals, families and/or communities who have experienced trauma; Working knowledge of Trauma Responsive Care. Ability to conduct therapy using the Spanish language is a PLUS; Willing to work from a Faith Based Lens is a PLUS; Experience with computer software and experience with an Electronic Health Record is a PLUS; Ability to evaluate tasks, establish priorities and meet deadlines; Ability to communicate program goals and expectations verbally and in writing; Ability and willingness to work some evenings and/or weekend hours as needed; Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team; Must have good written and verbal skills; Must have good critical thinking, problem-solving, and self-care skills Travel Requirements: Travel requirements for the position include 10 to 30% local and less than 5% overnight.
