About the role

Provide direct patient care for mixed populations in a Critical Access Hospital Emergency Department from admission to discharge. Coordinate care using clinical protocols and collaborate with physicians and support staff to ensure patient safety and efficient throughput.

Overview Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (Travel) in Colorado.

This 12-week travel assignment starts 06/29/2026, with a guaranteed 32 hours per week.

You’ll work nights on a 3x12-hour schedule (3 nights per week) with on-call shifts every six weeks.

The role is in a Critical Access Hospital ER setting.

Housing may be available, and some coverage in surrounding communities may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department for a mixed patient population (adult, pediatric, geriatric) from admission to discharge
  • Perform rapid assessment, triage, ongoing monitoring, and timely administration of medications per clinical guidelines
  • Initiate and coordinate care using accepted standards and protocols for ACLS, PALS (or equivalent), TNCC, ATLS, and CEN
  • Develop and implement patient care plans, collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners, and ED support staff
  • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes; facilitate discharge planning and patient-family education
  • Adhere to evidence-based pathways and ensure patient safety, quality metrics, and efficient ED throughput

Requirements

  • Active RN license in Colorado
  • Certifications: ACLS, PALS (or equivalent), TNCC, ATLS, and CEN
  • Experience: Preferred CAH ER experience; ER experience in a high-acuity setting is acceptable
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; licensure in good standing
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced Emergency Department and participate in required on-call shifts and night scheduling
  • Effective communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
