A Licensed Vocational Nurse provides basic nursing care under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs) and doctors. Their responsibilities vary depending on the healthcare setting but typically include the following:
Provide direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses or physicians.
Administer medications, injections, and treatments as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
Monitor and record vital signs, symptoms, and medical histories of patients accurately.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
Assist physicians and registered nurses during examinations, procedures, and treatments.
Perform routine procedures such as wound dressing changes, catheterizations, and tracheostomy care.
Monitor and document patients' progress, reactions to medications, and overall conditions.
Educate patients and their families on disease management, medication regimens, and post-treatment care.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a high standard of hygiene.
1. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
