Responsible for coordinating and administering CT/Sims and diagnostic radiologic exams, including PET scans and chest x-rays. Duties include administering radioactive tracers and fabricating immobilization devices for treatment planning.

SCOPE

Under general supervision, is responsible for the coordination and administration of all CT/Sims and diagnostic radiologic exams; ensures technical quality and timely transfer of data; and fabricates any necessary immobilization devices prior to scan as needed.

Functions

1.

Administer Radioactive Tracer (F18 FDG) as well as I.V. contrast.

2.

Perform and maintain quality control procedures for PET imaging.

3.

Perform functional imaging (PET) scans for diagnostic purpose.

4.

Perform diagnostic CT scans for routine radiologic exams.

5.

Perform CT scans for radiation treatment planning purposes.

6.

Fabricate immobilization and other treatment devices 7.

Perform chest x-rays 8.

Rotational Call

Qualifications

  • Certificate in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • Graduate of an AMA accredited program in radiologic technology
  • Registered by ARRT and NMTCB with current license by the state of Louisiana
  • 2 years experience as nuclear medicine technologist
  • 2 years experience as radiological technologist
  • CT experience preferred
  • Phlebotomist training preferred

Requirements

Requires certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology and graduation from an AMA accredited radiologic technology program. Must be registered by ARRT and NMTCB with a Louisiana state license and have 2 years of experience in both nuclear medicine and radiological technology.
