Assists surgeons and nurses during surgical operations by preparing the operating room and managing sterile instruments. Ensures high standards of patient care and maintains compliance with HIPAA and accreditation standards.
Applicants with the following backgrounds/experience and interest in working in an operating room environment are encouraged to apply as training will be provided: science majors, veterinarian or dental technicians, ophthalmic/optometry technicians, LPNs, in-office sterile procedures Hours: PRN Our surgery center is open Monday-Friday 6am-5pm Your shift will fall within those hours. You may need to work a little earlier/later as needed No late nights, weekends, on-call shifts, or holidays!

SUMMARY Assists in surgical operations under the supervision of Surgeons, Registered Nurses and Surgical Assistants. Assists in the organization and daily function of the operating room in accordance with established Federal, State and accreditation standards and company policies and procedures. Assists the Nurses and Surgeons in delivering the highest standard of patient care available.
Ability to prioritize, plan, and implement patient care within the scope of their practice. Ability to handle stress associated with prioritizing multiple tasks. Needs manual dexterity to handle instruments. Must be emotionally conscientious, orderly, and emotionally stable to handle the OR environment. Has the ability to adhere to work schedule, be organized, manage time effectively and in a cost effective manner. Above average organization skills. Able to effectively work within a team. Above average communication skills: verbal and written.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE High school diploma or GED equivalent required Two (2) years of hospital main operating room experience preferred
LICENSES AND CREDENTIALS Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Certified Surgical Technician (CST) certification preferred
SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGY To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Amkai Charts Database software and Microsoft Word Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
