Responsibilities

• Canyon Ridge Hospital is currently seeking a compassionate and talented Registered Nurse (Outpatient) to join our team.

• Canyon Ridge is a 157-bed acute, locked psychiatric facility offering services to adolescents ages 13-17, adults and older adults.
• We believe in an individualized, patient-focused approach to diagnosis and treatment.
• For some, anxiety or drug dependence looks different from others with the same diagnoses, and in some cases, behavioral health and substance use disorders occur simultaneously.
• In these cases of dual diagnosis, we treat the patients in the best way possible given their specific needs.
• The Outpatient RN is responsible for delivery of quality general and psychiatric nursing care to adults, and geriatrics with emotional or psychiatric disorders; serve actively and constructively as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team, supporting the organization and program philosophy of care; to ensure the safety and well-being of each patient.

Qualifications

• Possesses a current RN license issued by the State of California.
• Demonstrates sound leadership skills and effectively utilizes these skills to organize, prioritize, and oversee medical and non-medical patient care activities for an assigned shift, including coordination with interdisciplinary teams and providers.
• Actively manages and collaborates with providers to ensure timely communication, implementation of treatment plans, and continuity of care.
• Safely performs and oversees medication administration (medication pass) in accordance with physician orders, facility policies, and regulatory standards.
• Maintains a record of consistently high-quality clinical judgment and interpersonal skills, serving as an exemplary role model to peers and staff.
• Displays working knowledge of treatment procedures and interventions, including care for acute psychotic conditions and non-violent crisis intervention practices.
• Demonstrates foundational knowledge of abnormal psychology as related to the psychiatric patient population and applies this knowledge effectively in nursing care.
• Maintains proficiency in medical terminology, particularly terms associated with psychiatric and behavioral health care.
• Holds current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
