About the role

The Clinician provides strength-based psychotherapeutic interventions for children and families within a psychiatric community home. They are responsible for clinical documentation, coordinating care with system partners, and managing crisis situations.

We are currently seeking a Full Time – Licensed Clinician for our Providence Place program located in Jersey City, NJ. (Schedule: To Be Discussed with Hiring Manager.) Providence Place is a psychiatric community home for females, aged 15-17, referred from the State Children’s System of Care.

SCHEDULE: To Be Discussed with Hiring Manager – Flexible Schedule based on needs of the program The Clinician will perform the following duties: Provide strength based psycho therapeutic interventions for the referred child and her family, focusing on treatment issues and needs identified by the referring systems of care entity Complete all clinical and administrative documentation within the timeframes specified by the program protocols and Medicaid requirements Provide updated information to system partners as needed in order to insure coordination and continuity of care Analyze client needs and process information into a plan of action that includes interventions consistent with best practices for the identified issues and populations served.

Knowledge of the Children's System of Care and the related protocols and resources available to families and children Effectively work independently and as part of a team, professionally representing Catholic Charities when working in the field and with system partners Work respectfully with parents and caretakers in the service of the child Proactively plan for potentially difficult or crisis situations and identify and respond to risk and safety situations with sensitivity to the child and family stress as well as the legal and regulatory issues that may need to be addressed Engage children and families respectfully and manage a range of emotions and behaviors that might arise during home visits with client and personal safety in mind JOB REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in a behavioral health of social work discipline Minimum one year experience in the provision of child/adolescent mental health services Active New Jersey LSW or LAC Valid Driver's license required.

LPC, LCSW or PHD preferred.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's degree in behavioral health or social work and possess an active New Jersey LSW or LAC license. A minimum of one year of experience in child/adolescent mental health services and a valid driver's license are required.
