The Nuclear Medicine Technologist works under general supervision and performs diagnostic procedures within their scope of practice.
Procures, prepares, administers radiopharmaceuticals and adjunctive medications in accordance with the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Scope of Practice.
Always ensures medication security.
May perform procedures on the neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric population.

Prepares measures and administers radiopharmaceuticals for use in diagnostic and therapeutic studies. Performs and assists with nuclear medicine studies. They are responsible for patient safety protocols. Maintains all federal, state, local and regulatory agency requirements and participates in CQI activities.

Candidates must have at least an Associate Degree and be certified by the State of California to practice and administer radiopharmaceuticals. Current BLS certification and either two years of acute clinical experience or recent graduation from an accredited school are required.
