About the role

Provide critical medical support by obtaining vital signs, performing urine screens, and maintaining accurate medical records. Assist with patient admissions, scheduling follow-up appointments, and supporting the medical staff with administrative tasks.

Summary

Our Dallas inpatient rehab center offers detox and residential programming for adult men and women in or near Luzerne County. For clients with serious substance use disorders, detox is often an essential first step towards recovery. Our program ensures clients can safely withdraw from alcohol and other substances in a comfortable, non-hospital setting. Medical Assistants provide critical support by delivering medical care, answering phone calls, and completing necessary documentation and filing to assist the medical staff at the facility.

Shift

  • Sunday -
  • Thursday 7:00am - 3:00pm - and working every other holiday.

Pay

$16/hr Why work with us? Positions are available at different locations and in different states.

Responsibilities

Answer phone calls and complete documentation and filing to support medical staff. Complete and maintain medical records. Assist with admissions, consent processes for clients, and support during medical appointments. Obtain and document vital signs and urine screens for review by the medical team. Complete lab requisitions at admission and monitor outcomes for team review. Create and distribute client packets. Maintain a safe physical environment for all clients. Build and maintain therapeutic relationships with clients; communicate and document changes in client status. Support the prior authorization and medication ordering process as required. Schedule follow-up medical appointments and make external referrals as directed by the medical team. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Medical Assistant degree/certification or equivalent preferred. Experience in drug and alcohol/mental health settings preferred. Knowledgeable of HIPAA regulations and applicable laws/regulations, DDAP, CARF. General office skills and strong organizational ability. Requirements

A Medical Assistant degree or certification is preferred, along with experience in mental health or substance abuse settings. Candidates should be knowledgeable in HIPAA, DDAP, and CARF regulations with strong organizational skills.
