  • POSITION: This position will provide the student with real-world experience as a Cardiac Echo Technologist learning alongside, and under the supervision of, highly experienced Echo Technologists. The student will gain essential work experience and training in performing quality diagnostic echocardiograph examinations efficiently and accurately in patient care settings providing them the opportunity to demonstrate their value as future healthcare professionals.

  • RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform echocardiograph ultrasound examinations following established policy, procedure and risk management guidelines under the supervision of a staff technologist. Communicate specific problem areas regarding any procedures by obtaining a thorough patient history and sharing this information with the reading physician to ensure a quality diagnostic examination. Interact professionally with the reading physician and other medical staff to ensure the utmost quality diagnostic images. Communicate in a tactful and professional manner with patients and their families offering a complete and thorough explanation of the procedure being performed. Procure statistical information for daily activity sheet. Safely operate the ultrasound equipment and related peripheral and related photographic equipment by following established protocol. Adhere to quality control and safety regulations as dictated by current established programs. Participate in quality assessment and improvement process to ensure optimum continuous quality improvement of care to the patient. Other duties as assigned by training

  • STATEMENT: Individuals having regular clinical contact with patients demonstrate knowledge and skills in caring for patients (or assisting in caring for patients) of different age groups. Individuals demonstrate the ability to care for and utilize resources for patients to promote a cost effective and efficient environment for patients in the following age groups:

  • QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma and currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, an accredited school of Medical Sonography and registry eligible with ARDMS/CCI in one or more specialties. Valid Driver’s License Current Basic Life Support Certification Favorable results of pre-employment background check including FBI Fingerprinting and child abuse clearances required, as well as a pre-employment drug screen. Must complete compliance trainings upon hire including OSHA and HIPPA compliance, sexual harassment, workplace bullying, defense driving, and incident reporting,

Requirements

Must have a high school diploma and be currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of an accredited Medical Sonography program. Requires a valid driver's license, BLS certification, and eligibility for ARDMS/CCI registry.
