**Job Specific Responsibilities and Functions: **

- **Anesthesia Management

• Independently oversee the anesthesia process for patients, including conducting preoperative evaluations, preparing patients, administering monitored anesthesia care (MAC), regional anesthesia, general anesthesia, and neuraxial blocks. This role also entails monitoring and addressing patient reactions during anesthesia and surgery, managing intravenous fluid therapy, performing invasive monitoring, and executing post-operative evaluations as authorized by the MTF Credentials Committee.

- **Pre-Anesthetic Assessment

• Conduct comprehensive pre-anesthetic assessments. This includes securing informed consent, coordinating necessary consultations or diagnostic studies, and prescribing pre-anesthetic medications.

- **Anesthetic Plan Development

• Formulate and execute individualized anesthetic plans, ensuring safety and efficacy tailored to the patient's clinical profile.

- **Induction Evaluation

• *
• Perform a thorough evaluation immediately prior to anesthesia induction. Review the medical record to ensure it is complete, examine relevant laboratory data, and assess the timing and dosage of pre-anesthesia medications. Additionally, evaluate any changes in the patient's condition since previous consultations, including documenting past anesthetic experiences and any associated complications.

- **Physiologic Stability

• Maintain the patient’s physiological homeostasis, addressing any abnormal responses to anesthesia or surgical interventions.

- **Monitoring and Data Interpretation

• *
• Collect and interpret physiological data by appropriately applying noninvasive monitoring techniques.

- **Airway Management

• *
• Strategically manage the patient’s airway and pulmonary function throughout the anesthetic process.

- **Emergence and Recovery

• *
• Oversee the patient’s emergence from anesthesia, ensuring homeostasis, alleviating pain and side effects, and preventing or addressing complications through judicious selection and administration of medications, fluids, or ventilatory support.

- **Documentation

• *
• Diligently document all relevant events during the induction, maintenance, and emergence phases of anesthesia. This includes recording dosages and durations of anesthetic agents, additional medications, intravenous fluids, and blood components for all patients receiving anesthesia care. Post-anesthetic notes should also include at least one entry detailing the presence or absence of anesthesia-related complications.

**Operational Schedule: **

- **Facility Overview

• MOMMC operates 24/7 as an inpatient treatment facility.

- **Shift Structure

• *
• Daily shifts commence at 0630 hours, with durations of 8, 10, or 12 hours determined based on surgical and patient care demands. All shifts include a 30-minute uncompensated lunch break.

- **Shift Assignment

• *
• The Government supervisor dictates specific shift assignments.

**Minimum Qualifications: **

- **Education

• *
• Master’s or Doctorate degree in nursing, with graduation from a program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs (COA).

- **Experience

• *
• A minimum of 2 years of active CRNA practice, with recent engagement within the last 6 months. This experience must encompass cases involving General Anesthesia and Obstetric (Neuraxial) Anesthesia.

- **Board Certification

• *
• Must hold current certification as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist from the National Board for Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA), along with a current Registered Nursing (RN) License and CRNA License from any U.S. state.

- **Licensure

• *
• Hold an unrestricted RN License from any state.

- **Life Support Certifications

• *
• Maintain current certifications in BLS, ACLS or ALS, PALS, NRP, and ATLS, following guidelines from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.

- **Security Clearance

• *
• Candidates must be able to successfully pass a government background check/security clearance.
