Your commitment to patient care and your attention to detail are vital to our mission of providing accurate and compassionate healthcare. Graduate from an accredited Radiology Technologist or Sonography program is required. Current, or in the process of earning registration by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in physics, is required.

  • DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.) Greet the patient with eye contact, introduce yourself, and verify correct patient by using proper patient identifiers. Ensure the correct ordering provider and test. Perform a wide range of Ultrasound procedures, including but not limited to, abdominal, testicular, breast, thyroid, vascular and soft tissue examinations. Assist the Radiologist in special scans such as cyst aspirations, biopsies and drainages. Ensure that sterile and aseptic techniques are used at all times. Explain the procedure, prepare and position the patient, select appropriate transducers and other necessary items for the procedure. Verify that the exam on the work list is the correct exam and that the accession number matches the number on the order. Evaluate the clinical history and document history to record into the PACS notes. Recognize the need for additional imaging and/or positioning to fully illustrate the area in question. Adjust frequency, gain, depth, focal zone, size and field of view. Use harmonies or color Doppler and other factors, as necessary. Verify the images on the PACS system, making certain that all images have arrived and all notes are correct. Perform related work as required.

  • QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of an accredited ultrasound program. New graduates will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

None CERTIFICATE/LICENSE: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), or Abdomen (AB), Breast (BR), and Vascular (RVT) certifications preferred; minimally willing to achieve. OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Sonography (S) and Breast (BS), and Vascular (VS) certifications preferred; minimally willing to achieve. AND CPR Certification TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 50 pounds. The ability to work in a dimly lit environment is required. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in an outpatient environment. PAY AND BENEFITS: The estimated pay range for this position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related criteria. We also offer vacation pay as well as a 401k plan.

Requirements

Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist or Sonography program and hold or be pursuing ARDMS registration in physics. CPR certification is required, and certifications in Abdomen, Breast, or Vascular imaging are preferred.
