Inpatient mental health or behavioral health unit/s Shifts available: Afternoons Shift timings: 8 Hours; Afternoons, 3.00 pm to 11.30 pm
Provide all aspects of BH nursing for patients in the assigned units Assesses person’s served care needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, and continually reassesses plan of care according to person’s served care needs. In collaboration with the physician, provides/coordinates nursing care to individuals and groups of person’s served. Assists in the teaching of persons’ served families, and provides milieu management. Communicates with and educates persons’ served families/significant others in discharge/after care planning needs. Provides a safe and secure environment for persons served and staff in both individual and group settings. Responsible for documenting, reporting, and verifying all necessary information according to established policies and procedures. Responsible to monitor for and report to the physician(s) any potential risk to person’s served safety that could lead to an adverse outcome. Functions as a clinical leader, delegating/coordinating staff assignments and promoting staff development. May be responsible in training direct care staff. Performs other duties or functions as assigned. May function as a charge nurse.
Requires a Registered Nurse license in Michigan with at least 2 years of experience in psychiatric/behavioral health and pediatric nursing. Must hold an ASN or BSN and a BLS certification from AHA or American Red Cross.
