Position Requirements

• Registered
• Nurse (RN): Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience (Floating experience does not qualify) – Required EKG interpretation experience – Required Must be willing to float to similar units as needed – Required Experience with Neuro ICU, CVICU, or Trauma ICU – Preferred Experience managing mechanically ventilated patients – Preferred Experience with CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABP) – Preferred Completed ICU Skills Checklist (within the past year) –

Job Description

Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit. Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans. Continuously monitor patients' vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall clinical status. Interpret EKGs and respond promptly to changes in patient condition. Care for patients requiring mechanical ventilation and other advanced life support therapies. Assist in the management of patients receiving CRRT and intra-aortic balloon pump therapy when applicable. Administer medications, blood products, and IV therapies according to physician orders and facility protocols. Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and responses in the electronic medical record. Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and ongoing care needs. Adhere to all hospital policies, infection prevention guidelines, and professional nursing standards. Float to comparable critical care units when required based on patient care needs.
