The Emergency Department Technician provides direct patient care and supports the functioning of the Emergency Department. Responsibilities include performing EKGs, glucose testing, phlebotomy, and documenting patient data in Electronic Medical Records.

Job Details

Responsibilities

The Emergency Department Technician performs approved activities related to patient care and the functioning of the Emergency Department. Adheres to Mercy Medical Center/department policies and procedures and JCAHO/regulatory agency requirements. Demonstrates and promotes service excellence at all times. Delivers direct care to patients and creates a safe comfortable environment. Assist with selected procedures associated with admission, discharge and transfer of patients. Documentation in the Electronic Medical Record Assists with transfer of patient to a bed, wheelchair or stretcher utilizing patient care equipment safely as needed Performs and maintains competencies related to EKG's, glucose testing and phlebotomy Participates in customer service activities

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required One year satisfactory experience as a Nurse's Aide in a hospital or prior EMT experience preferred Good communication skills/speaks and writes clearly BLS required

Salary Range

Usd $27.68 - Usd $27.68 /Hr.

Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent and BLS certification are required. Prior experience as a Nurse's Aide in a hospital or EMT experience is preferred.
