About the role

The Cardiac Anesthesiologist is responsible for performing pre-operative evaluations and administering anesthesia for various surgical and procedural cases. They must monitor patients throughout procedures and collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams to ensure safe perioperative care.

GLI provides on-site anesthesiology services in a hospital-based surgical setting, supporting high-quality patient care through close collaboration across clinical teams. This is an opportunity to join an environment focused on safe, effective perioperative care and strong interdisciplinary partnership. As a Cardiac Anesthesiologist, you will play a central role in delivering anesthesia care across surgical and procedural cases, helping ensure patients receive attentive, clinically sound support before, during, and after procedures. You will work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other care team members while contributing to a patient-centered practice grounded in quality and safety.

Responsibilities

Perform pre-operative evaluations. Administer anesthesia for a variety of surgical and procedural cases. Monitor patients throughout procedures. Manage post-anesthesia recovery. Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and multidisciplinary clinical teams. Participate in scheduled clinical coverage and on-call/callback rotations. Maintain accurate electronic medical documentation. Adhere to clinical quality and patient safety standards. Required Qualifications MD or DO degree. Completed anesthesiology residency and cardiac anesthesia fellowship training. Board certified or board eligible in anesthesiology. 3+ years of anesthesiology experience, which may include fellowship and training. Experience documenting patient care in a hospital-based electronic health record and proficiency with anesthesia documentation systems and perioperative clinical workflows. Ability to perform and interpret Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) for cardiac anesthesia positions. Eligibility to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

Cardiac anesthesia experience. Recent experience with CABG and cardiac valve procedures. Holds a Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) certification. Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision) Retirement Plan (401k, IRA) Other benefits determined by position, duration, and hours.

Candidates must hold an MD or DO degree, have completed an anesthesiology residency and cardiac anesthesia fellowship, and be board certified or eligible. A minimum of 3 years of experience and the ability to perform TEE are required.
