Description Partner Veterinary is looking for an Oncology Veterinary Assistant to join our Richmond, VA team!

Additionally, Partner Veterinary has a dedicated Learning and Development Department, to help assistants achieve your professional goals, supported by two veterinary technician specialists (VTS) Heather Carter and Christine Weaver.

Partner Veterinary provides Veterinary Assistants with tuition support to an accredited Veterinary Technician program and mentorship to pass the VTNE To set you up for success from day 1, We gift you a *wellness week of PTO after your first 90 days in your new position!

This includes 30-40 hours of extra PTO dependent upon your schedule.

Partner Veterinary recognizes the demand on veterinary professionals, and this wellness week allows you to rest and relax with a week off after your initial 90 days.

What does your day look like at Partner?

Partner Veterinary is seeking a Veterinary Assistant for our Oncology service who is excited to leverage their specialized skills to care for patients and families combating cancer. The Oncology Veterinary Assistant is able to practice at the height of their skills.

This is achieved through exhibiting knowledge in diagnostic procedures, tumor classifications/terminology, and, most importantly, recognizing the needs of our patients and clients. These needs range from compassionate care and communication for our clients to delivering analgesics and nutritional support to our patients.

Requirements

Minimum 1 year veterinary experience in a specialty environment, experience in Oncology preferred Knowledge and dedication to high standard and fear-free patient care practices Strong communication skills to enable respectful and successful lines of communication among team members Adaptability in various learning strategies and keen interest to continuing to develop as a technician and team member Physical Requirements (ability to): Quickly process, analyze, and react to unplanned and emergent medical situations without delay, so as to ensure the safety of team members and patients Stand for up to 12 hours with limited breaks Lift up to 40 lbs without assistance Our core values: Reimagine Empower Community Care About us:
