About the role

The specialist provides telephone triage, clinical assessments, and referral services to process inpatient hospital admissions. They are responsible for establishing therapeutic relationships with clients and scheduling in-house evaluations quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Riveredge Hospital is a 210-bed leading psychiatric hospital dedicated to providing quality behavioral health services and trauma-informed care to children, adolescents and adults.
  • The hospital offers inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and community residential programs.
  • Master Intake Specialist provides telephone triage, clinical assessment services, and referral services and processes inpatient hospital admissions within required time frames and establishes therapeutic relationships with clients and families.
  • Consistently and immediately responds to all inquiry calls from community referral sources, consumers and medical/ allied staff.
  • Offers initial face-to-face assessments to all inquiries and schedules in-house evaluations within one hour.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in psychology, social work, or related field REQUIRED.
  • Requires at least 2 years of experience in a psychiatric treatment setting.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Strong assessment skills.
  • Maintain annual CPR, First Aid, and crisis prevention /intervention (PMR) certification.
  • Must have knowledge of psychiatric rehabilitation services and Special Treatment Procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • License preferred.

Requirements

A Master's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is required along with at least 2 years of experience in a psychiatric setting. Candidates must be at least 21 years old and maintain certifications in CPR, First Aid, and PMR.
