About the role

Cornerstones of Maine is excited to announce opportunities to join our growing team as a Psychotherapist/ Psychologist/ Therapist/ Clinician/ Counselor (Psy.D, PHD, LCPC, LCSW, etc.) within our residential young adult mental health program. For nearly a decade, we’ve been providing evidence-based, research-driven mental health services to young adults. This position is based in Portland, Maine.

We are seeking a candidates with experience in residential or inpatient settings, particularly with young adults facing significant mental health challenges. Our program is designed to support young adults who are navigating the challenges of transitioning to independence while learning to manage their mental health. We use an integrated therapeutic model, with psychotherapists managing a small caseload of clients and providing individual, group, and family therapy. The therapeutic environment fosters a collaborative, team-based approach, allowing staff to work together in supporting each client’s progress. This position offers an exciting blend of hands-on clinical work and the chance for in-depth exploration and development of clinical skills.

Required skills and experience

We are currently seeking a dynamic licensed psychotherapist, psychologist, therapist, clinician, LCPC, or LCSW with minimum 5 years of direct clinical experience working in mental health settings, including with neurodivergent adolescents and/or young adults. Our applicant should have a strong understanding of clinical work. Master’s degree or higher in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field is required. CPR certification required by date of permanent hire.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's degree or higher in psychology, counseling, or social work and possess a valid license (e.g., LCPC, LCSW). A minimum of 5 years of direct clinical experience, including work with neurodivergent adolescents or young adults, is required.
