Are you an experienced case manager, social worker, family support professional, or child welfare advocate looking for meaningful work?

At Methodist Home for Children, our Foster Care Specialists play a critical role in helping children and families navigate some of life's most challenging transitions. You'll work directly with foster families, birth families, community partners, and child welfare professionals to ensure children have the support, advocacy, and stability they need to thrive.

Whether the goal is reunification, kinship placement, or adoption, you'll be part of a team committed to helping every child achieve a safe, permanent home.

What you'll do

  • As a Foster Care Specialist, you'll manage a caseload while building strong relationships with children, caregivers, and community partners. Responsibilities include:
  • Providing case management and family-centered services to children and families
  • Supporting foster parents through ongoing coaching, training, and advocacy
  • Partnering with DSS, schools, therapists, medical providers, and court personnel
  • Developing service plans and helping families work toward reunification and permanency goals
  • Advocating for children's educational, medical, behavioral health, and developmental needs
  • Maintaining timely documentation and compliance with licensing and regulatory requirements
  • Participating in foster parent recruitment, training, and support efforts
  • Providing after-hours support on a rotating basis, with team backup available
  • What we're looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, or a related field
  • Two or more years of experience in child welfare, foster care, family preservation, case management, mental health, juvenile justice, or related human services work
  • Strong assessment, documentation, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
