The Lab Associate is responsible for the collection, processing, and transport of laboratory specimens across various patient demographics. They also handle clerical duties such as order entry, registration, and inventory management to ensure laboratory efficiency.

The Laboratory Associate provides services as part of the patient care team.
Primary responsibilities involve all aspects of specimen collection including registration, order entry, processing, packaging, preparation and transport of specimens.
Performs age appropriate phlebotomy procedures on neonatal, pediatric, adult and/or geriatric patients.
Assumes responsibility for compliance with all State, Federal, Hospital and Laboratory policies and procedures.
Requires strict adherence to quality control guidelines to ensure the integrity of laboratory specimens and accuracy of results.
Assumes responsibility for supply ordering and inventory control.
Acts as a liaison between customers and the laboratory to ensure customer satisfaction with laboratory services by answering inquiries/resolving problems and relaying results.
May perform Microbiological tasks including, but not limited to: planting of all culture types, preparing slides for staining, and incubating plates/plants at proper temperature.
Requires multi-campus rotation.
Responsible for working weekends, holidays, and for covering other than primary shift, as assigned.
1. High School graduate or equivalent preferred
2. Successful completion of approved phlebotomy program preferred
3. Completion of Phlebotomy Internship preferred.
4. 1 Year experience preferred.
$21.00 - $28.26

Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.

A high school diploma and completion of a phlebotomy program are preferred, along with one year of experience. A valid state driver's license is required, and phlebotomy certification is preferred.
