  • Schedule: Full-Time; Mon-Fri; flexible schedule during business hours North Port Behavioral Health Hospital is a new 144-bed acute hospital located in North Port, FL and offers specialized care for adolescents ages 13-17, adults age 18 and older, and seniors age 55 and older who are living with mental health concerns and co-occurring substance use disorders. Our comprehensive approach is tailored to each age group, addressing the mental, physical, emotional, and social aspects of well-being to promote holistic healing. We are currently seeking a Full-Time, Inpatient Psychiatrist to join our skilled and patient focused team.

About the Role

Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization and/or medication.

Responsible for providing clinical services to patients at the facility.

Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate, facility policy or procedures.

Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations.

Evaluate patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders.

Treat or direct treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.

Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, documents services and information in a timely manner.

Maintain confidential documentation, compliance and billing in accordance with the policy and procedures.

Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.

One or more years’ post graduate degree practice preferred.

Licensed in the state in which the facility(s) operate.

Licenses/Certifications: Board certification in psychiatry Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.

Requirements
