Position Summary

Provides professional nursing care for clinic patients receiving treatments and examination, according to established procedures.

Responsibilities

Orients, instructs and trains assigned personnel. Prepares patients for scheduled procedures to assist in patient assessment. Accurately records history and perform basic triage procedures per policy including accurate vitals. Retrieves initial basic condition of patients and reports to appropriate practitioner. Demonstrates sensitivity to patient's comfort and privacy by using the AIDET fundamentals of communication. Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care. Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families during their visit. Monitors and ensures accuracy of recording on patient medical records. Maintains all required reports, records, statistics, etc. Ensures an adequate stock of supplies and well maintained equipment. Inspects area daily for compliance with policies, procedures, regulations and standards and takes corrective action when violations occur. Schedules all outside patient appointments per physician order and relays accurately to patients. Take calls from hospitals/ nursing homes and relays appropriate information to practitioner in a timely Assures test results are received and relayed to patient in a timely manner. Completes medical orientation checklist. Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops. Performs radiographic examinations as licensed by certification. Maintains x-ray and other equipment in efficient operating order; performs preventative maintenance on a regularly scheduled basis; contacts outside service or clinical supervisor for major malfunctions. Directs patients to radiographic room; prepares and maintains rooms. Collaborate with the patient, physician and other care team members as part of a team based approach to overall patient care. Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority. Minimum Experience: One (1) year experience in medical office setting Licensure Requirement: Successful completion of a state approved educational program in at least one Radiology modality. Must complete and pass state testing requirements to achieve “X-ray operator in an MD office” (MXRT) licensure in the state of Tennessee for applicable modalities. Considered limited scope. CPR required. Must hold CCMA or equivalent MA certification.

Requirements

Must have completed an accredited educational program and obtain ARRT(N) or NMTCB certification within one year. State licensure in accordance with Tennessee guidelines is required.
