About the role

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care and coordinates treatment plans within a multidisciplinary team on a designated behavioral health unit. Responsibilities include delegating care activities and potentially assuming Charge Nurse duties to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

  • Parkwood Behavioral Health System provides behavioral health and chemical dependency services to the Mid-South region and has been in business since 1987. We are located in Desoto County, in the northwest corner of Mississippi and approximately 7 miles south of Memphis. We offer a full continuum of care that provides treatment options to meet the individual needs of adults, adolescents and children. Parkwood Behavioral Health System includes a 148-bed inpatient acute and residential care facility, as well as partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs. Hourly Rate

$56.00 / per hour NOTE: Candidates employed by any UHS facility within the last 6 months are not eligible. The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care on a designated unit in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Parkwood Behavioral Health. The Registered Nurse prescribes, coordinates and delegates nursing care utilizing the nursing process that is integrated into the multidisciplinary treatment team plan of care. The Registered Nurse is accountable for assigned nursing care activities on a shift basis and is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit. The Registered Nurse also may assume Charge Nurse Responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

Education

Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required; BSN preferred.

Experience

One (1) year of supervisory experience preferred.

Licensure

Licensure and registration by the Mississippi Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse, or multi-state license as approved by NCSBN. CPR Current CPR or BLS certification.

Knowledge

Must possess knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management and CPR training. Requirements

Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited professional nursing program with a valid Mississippi Board of Nursing license or a multi-state license. Current CPR or BLS certification is required, and one year of supervisory experience is preferred.
