  • Summary: Bournewood Hospital is seeking a compassionate and skilled Inpatient Group Therapist to provide therapeutic services to individuals in an inpatient setting. The therapist will facilitate group therapy sessions, provide psychoeducation, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and support both adult and adolescent patients in their mental health and SUD recovery.

  • Responsibilities: Facilitate structured group therapy sessions for patients dealing with various mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. Develop and implement therapeutic interventions tailored to the needs of the patient population. Conduct assessments to determine group treatment plans and monitor progress. Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards. Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed. Educate patients on coping strategies, emotional regulation, and relapse prevention. Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development.
  • QualificationsQualifications: Must have experience in leading groups Degree in a relevant mental health field (Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related discipline) preferred. Active state licensure in a mental health field preferred

  • Skills: Prior experience in an inpatient, residential, or acute psychiatric setting preferred. Strong group facilitation skills with knowledge of evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, ACT, or trauma-informed care. Spiritual advisor/ background for some candidates also preferred Ability to manage a dynamic and sometimes high-risk patient population with professionalism and empathy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) documentation.

Requirements

Requires a degree in a relevant mental health field and experience leading therapeutic groups. State licensure and prior experience in inpatient or acute psychiatric settings are preferred.
