About the role

Performs quantitative and qualitative laboratory analyses to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Responsibilities include sample handling, instrument maintenance, and maintaining accurate records of test results.

Job Requirements Sign on bonus $7500.00

Position Summary

Using established standards and practices, performs various quantitative and qualitative laboratory analysis to comply with physician requests in order to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Must be willing to accept new responsibility as assigned by the laboratory director. Must be able to provide and understand the specific communication, developmental and treatment needs of patients, families and visitors. Minimum Requirements Education Baccalaureate Degree in Laboratory related Science Experience 1-3 years License/Registration/Certifications

Core Job Responsibilities Must be able to provide and understand the specific communication, developmental and treatment needs of patients, families, and visitors ranging in age from neonate-birth to geriatric.

Must be able to make decisions about sample collection and handling and perform testing of samples.

Must be able to perform instrument maintenance, troubleshooting and quality control.

Must be able to maintain accurate records and reporting of test results with the knowledge of critical values.

Must be able to withstand the stress and demands of an active position while responding calmly and efficiently in crisis situations.

Must possess ability to make decisions and use appropriate judgement.

Must be able to work as a team member, demonstrating good interpersonal skills.

Must be able to communicate professionally with physicians, management and staff.

Must be trained and maintain competency on limited procedures in the Highly Infectious Disease Testing Must maintain credentials and licensure.

Requirements

Requires a Baccalaureate Degree in Laboratory related Science and 1-3 years of experience. ASCP registration is preferred.
