Unit: Overview: Acuity Adaptable Unit – IU Health Tipton Hospital
Our acuity adaptable unit is a unique care environment that supports medical-surgical, progressive care, and limited critical care patients—all within a single flexible space. With an average daily census of 8 patients, our unit adjusts seasonally to meet the needs of our rural community. Nurses here are cross-trained to manage a wide range of acuity levels, making this an ideal setting for those who thrive in a dynamic, team-based environment.
Due to the rural setting, our team operates with limited resources, requiring strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and collaboration. You’ll work closely with a dedicated interdisciplinary team including nurses, patient care assistants, case managers, physicians, pharmacists, and dietitians—all committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

Requires an active Indiana or Compact RN license, an Associate of Nursing degree (BSN preferred), and BLS certification. Candidates must have at least one year of RN experience and have graduated from a nationally accredited program.
