The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) employs nearly 2,300 team members operating nine institutions statewide, which house approximately 5,800 inmates. *Conduct periodic exams of inmate's teeth, gingiva and oral mucous for infections and diseases, and prepare charts for same. *Diagnose diseases and lesions, take X-rays and prepare study models as necessary. *Provide restorative dentistry. *Conduct oral surgery through the administration of anesthesia and the extraction of teeth by incision, excision and extirpation. *Administer drugs orally, topically, by injection and/or prescription.
Degree in Dentistry, plus licensed to practice Dentistry in Nebraska.
Must submit to background security check. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the pre-employment medical exam and a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid Nebraska Department of Correctional Services Training Program.
