About the role

Perform MRI scans on patients, including those with implanted electronic devices and pacemakers. Ensure patient safety and follow established protocols for clearing implanted devices for scheduling.

This is a casual (per diem) position working varied 8-hour shifts, primarily day shift; however, flexibility to cover PM and overnight shifts may be required.

The role requires scheduling flexibility throughout the week, including weekends, holidays, and participation in the on-call rotation with staff.

This position is located at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas.

Required Qualifications

  • Arrt(Mr), armrit, or crt
  • Completion of a venipuncture class. Certificate must be provided at the time of application; 10 successful sticks must be completed within 30 days of hire.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • Completion of a formal training/educational program from an approved school of Radiologic Technology or equivalent education and experience in radiologic imaging obtained through a hospital-based training program or other formalized on-the-job training program, combined with current licensure/certification
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as an MRI Technician
  • Experience working with multiple pacemaker programmers
  • Experience performing MRI scans on patients with MRI Conditional pacemakers
  • Experience scanning patients with other implanted electronic devices, including neurostimulators
  • Experience reviewing implanted device documentation and identifying MRI conditions and requirements
  • Experience appropriately clearing implanted devices for MRI scheduling in accordance with established protocols

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cardiac MRI experience
  • Strong background in MRI safety; MRSO certification preferred
  • Experience working with Siemens and Tesla MRI scanners

Requirements

Requires ARRT(MR), ARMRIT, or CRT certification, BLS certification, and a minimum of 4 years of experience as an MRI Technician. Must have completed a venipuncture class and a formal radiologic technology program.
